MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN OF MEDICINE
May 4, 2007
Dear Students:
After talking to several students who have recently finished exams, and many who are beginning to study for the USMLE, I wanted to write to offer my support and encouragement. I understand the anxiety and stress many of you may be feeling, and I want to let you know I believe in you, and I believe in our educational process, so I know you will be successful.
As you may imagine, I have spoken to many groups since becoming Dean, and one thing I have consistently shared with each group is the pleasure I have derived from meeting and talking to our medical students. I have been holding monthly lunches with students, and enjoyed participating in Match Day, and attending the St. Vincent’s Clinic talent show. If I was impressed before, I was certainly more impressed after witnessing your singing, dancing and acting talent.
Keep up your wonderful work. And as you prepare for exams, and head out to summer medical experiences in Texas and all over the world, know that you have a community of faculty, residents and alumni who are behind you and who are very proud of you.
Sincerely,
