I got in, now what?

Congratulations on your acceptance to the School of Medicine, Class of 2019!

We know that it has taken a lot of hard work and dedication to get to this point and for that, we applaud your accomplishment. We in the Office of Student Affairs and Admissions, along with the School of Medicine faculty, are committed to working with you to ensure that you succeed in your academic and professional goals. Please know that our doors are always open to you.

You should have received a formal letter of acceptance by mail. Please carefully read through this letter and complete all of the requirements for matriculation described.

To ensure you matriculation, please use the checklist below to complete all requirements by the specified dates, and before you arrive for New Student Orientation.

Check List

  1. Go to mySTAR and accept the position in medical school.
  2. Verify with Enrollment Services Office that your official transcripts have arrived.  If your school can send the transcripts electronically via SPEEDE, please use that method to send your transcripts to UTMB. If you are currently enrolled, send your official transcripts at the end of the semester. Be sure to have the transcripts sent from your previous school directly to the Enrollment Services Office at:

  1. Fill out and return these items to the address on the form:
  1. Visit the Student Health office website and click on “New Student UTMB” tab for more information on required immunizations and insurance policies http://www.utmb.edu/studenthealth/
