A study
lead by Tasnee Chonmaitree, M.D., Professor in the Departments of
Pediatrics and Pathology, shows that antihistamines to relieve children’s
ear infection symptoms may do more harm than good. This study has
received extensive coverage including publication in the Journal of
Pediatrics (September 2003), American
Academy
of
Pediatrics News
(December 2003),
and
Reader’s Digest. Reuters published the story before it was
picked up by approximately 200 web sites including Google News, Yahoo
News, Yale-New Haven Website, etc. The story will also run in
Prevention Magazine (April 2004 issue) and Health Magazine.
