"SMALLPOX: WHAT EVERY CLINICIAN SHOULD KNOW"
A
live satellite and web broadcast is scheduled for Thursday, December 13,

that smallpox virus could be used as an agent of bioterrorism, providers
should be familiar with the disease and the vaccine to prevent it. The
satellite conference will be BROADCAST ON UTMB CABLE CHANNEL 53.
Tapes will be available the week following the broadcast. For more
information on the campus broadcast or to inquire about a videotape of
the session, call Healthcare Epidemiology at ext. 23192. For more

Over
the past several months, seven Task Forces comprising of approximately
120 School of Medicine faculty have been reviewing years 3 and 4 of the
medical school curriculum with the goals of identifying features of an
"ideal" curriculum and developing recommendations to move
UTMB's clinical curriculum toward those ideals. The Task Force reports
have been submitted and are available for faculty to review and comment
on the web at:
http://www.som.utmb.edu/curriculum_review
Faculty
are encouraged to review the Task Force reports and provide comments.
Feedback will be valuable as the planning moves forward. The reports and
